2024 Northeast Kansas Tractor and Machine Operation Program A 7-day Tractor and Machine Operation Program is being offered in hybrid format (Zoom sessions + an in-person testing day) to fulfill requirements in federal law for 14-15 year old youth who will be employed in operating tractors that are over 20 PTO horsepower and associated farm machinery that are listed as particularly hazardous in the Hazardous Occupations Order for Agriculture (HOOA) for employers other than their parents. Registration: · Cost $40. Dates: Zoom Sessions June 10th-14th, and 17th, and an in-person Testing Day on June 18th The 24 hrs of curriculum will be taught via Zoom, and an in-person testing day will be held on June 18th. To cover the 24 hrs of curriculum, we will host six days of Zoom, with four hours of material being covered each day (June 10th-14th, 17th). On June 18th, we will have an in-person day where youth will walk through machinery, take a written exam, and demonstrate that they can safely operate a tractor over 20 PTO horsepower on a tractor course while pulling a two-wheeled implement.
